Designer and sculptor Mark Stoddart lives and works in Ayrshire, Scotland. From his workshop (founded in 1990) set among the ancient castles and lochs of his homeland, Mark creates unique, highly collectible bronze sculptures. Foremost among these is a range of beautiful and functional glass-topped coffee and dining tables with bronze-bases, some sculptured into wild animal forms, including the Hippopotamus, Tiger, Baby Elephant and Rhinoceros.
Others take their inspiration from technology, among them the Apollo Lunar Landing Module table, one of which now takes pride of place in the home of former US astronaut Buzz Aldrin. There is a great demand for Mark's art creating a waiting list which can run into months for the most popular pieces.
A limited edition of only 99 Coffee Tables and 50 Dining/Conference Tables are created. Each piece carries the designer's signature, is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. One piece, which was auctioned at Christies of London sold for double its retail value.
Each of Marks designs are completely unique, only 99 of any one sculpture are ever produced ensuring their individuality, as a result they are in high demand. Mark also provides bespoke commissions, creating one off unique pieces for clients around the globe.
