Frankie Dettori – Champion Newmarket Jockey

The Italian jockey Frankie Dettori has won the inaugural Racing Post Champion Newmarket jockey award. The new award covered all 37 fixtures at the Natwest Rowley Mile and July course in 2006 at Newmarket. His prize for accomplishing this magnificent feat was a bronze sculptured horse coffee table by Mark.

David Shepherds 70th birthday party

Mark pictured above with Sophie Stafford (Editor of the BBC Wildlife magazine) at David Shepherds 70th birthday party. The event was held at the Dorchester Hotel in London which was coincidentally celebrating its 70th birthday as well. Mark donated a prize which was auctioned to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund.

Desert Orchid (November 2006).

Desert Orchid died peacefully this month aged 27. Mark was present at her 27th Birthday party and was captivated by her character. ‘He was an intuitive being whose courage, spirit, individuality and intelligence made him unique. A most beautiful creature, who has been described as having the finest legs since Marilyn Munroe’.

Cheltenham Special Achievement /
Recognition Award 2006

Cheltenham has a Special Achievement / Recognition Award which this year was won by Jockey J. T. Macnamara.

Cheltenham's Frequent Runner

Mark had the pleasure of presenting another one of his magnificent Horse design pieces to leading owner trainer Paul Nicholls, as the winner of Chelteneham's Frequent Runner Championship.

Desert Orchid turns 27

Mark recently attended a very special 27th birthday celebration of Desert Orchid. You see him alongside his owner, David Elsworth, with his cake. No doubt he will enjoy his piece now that he does not need to worry about his weight. Although, looking at the other photo, he still appears to enjoy some exercise.
